Christmas Ad 2022

Back in 2022, while working at The Animation Guys, Grace Parker and I—both lead illustrators and animators on this project—were entrusted with creating a Christmas advert for an undisclosed brand, all within a tight two-week deadline.

The first week saw us sketching layouts, storyboarding, and building the animatic. We then moved on to crafting detailed backgrounds, designing characters, and compositing everything together in After Effects. Finally, we brought it all to life with animation.

Although we successfully completed the project, it was ultimately shelved before release.

The concept centered around showcasing a new product through heartwarming illustrations. We worked from a guide (not shown here) that provided character designs and a background, and the result was a beautiful, on-brand, and uplifting animation. While the full piece may never see the light of day, we’re excited to share some of the illustrations with you here!
