In an Electrocardiogram (ECG) Q wave may indicate a silent myocardial infarction (SMI) associated with increased risk of fatal type 2 diabetes.
"Silent Myocardial Infarction Presenting as Fatigue in a Diabetic Elderly Patient- Case Report & Literature Review"- This case report discusses an elderly diabetic patient who presented with fatigue, later diagnosed as a silent myocardial infarction. The atypical presentation highlights the diagnostic challenges of MI in diabetic patients, where classic symptoms may be absent due to autonomic neuropathy. A brief literature review emphasizes the importance of early recognition and monitoring in high-risk populations to prevent delayed diagnosis and improve outcomes.
