The mission of Project Gutenberg is simple: To encourage the creation and distribution of eBooks. This mission is, as much as possible, to encourage all those who are interested in making eBooks and helping to give them away (The Project Gutenberg Mission Statement, by Michael Hart).
During my time here, I meticulously compared scanned pages of public domain/out-of-copyright books with the OCR text ensuring that only error-free electronic books are archived for interested readers and completed up to 300 pages on the website with 5 active projects and 15 projects already posted to Project Gutenberg including the Venus Equilateral science-fiction series by George O. Smith.
