This is a sound "redesign" that I did a couple of years ago as a student project at the SAE Institute in London, UK. Our mentor Jamie Stonehouse gave us a couple of animations, without their original sound design, to choose, and create our own foley, sound fx, ambiances, and scores from scratch, or to say do a sound redesign, and then mix it in 5.1 cinema ready surround sound and stereo. Of course, this is a stereo version and I suggest that you use your headphones to hear the whole soundscape. The animation and the story of "The Optimist" by John Mervin are amazing, so it was an easy task to work on it.
