Introduction

Many Nigerians living abroad face challenges when trying to shop for loved ones back home. Shipping costs, unreliable vendors, and payment issues often make it difficult to send gifts, groceries, or essentials. This case study explores the design and development of an e-commerce SaaS platform that enables Nigerians in the diaspora to shop directly from local businesses in Nigeria—ensuring fast, reliable, and cost-effective deliveries.

Problem Statement

Nigerians in the diaspora often face difficulties in sending goods to loved ones due to:
Limited Access to Local Vendors – Many Nigerian businesses don’t accept international payments.
High Shipping Costs & Delays – Direct shipping is expensive and unreliable.
Trust & Quality Issues – Fear of scams or receiving subpar products.
Complicated Payment Methods – Most Nigerian stores don’t support foreign cards or alternative payment options.

Key Question:

How can we design an e-commerce platform that seamlessly connects diaspora shoppers with trusted Nigerian vendors while ensuring secure payments and reliable deliveries?
