Introduction My name is Ahmed Abdul Salam, a 3D artist and game designer from Pakistan. I specialize in creating immersive animations and experiences using Blender and Unreal Engine. Today, I present to you my project, "The Last Spark," a narrative animation that explores resilience and renewal in a post-apocalyptic world.
Problem Statement The world is facing critical challenges such as environmental decay and resource depletion due to negligence and overexploitation. Through my animation, I aim to depict a post-apocalyptic scenario that reflects the consequences of human actions on Earth. The story serves as a metaphor for the need to take responsibility for preserving our planet and highlights how small actions, even from unexpected sources, can spark hope and change. This project allowed me to creatively address these issues while showcasing my technical and storytelling skills as a 3D artist.
Solution The animation presents Spark, a robot symbolizing resilience and hope, as it embarks on a journey to restore energy and life in a desolate, post-apocalyptic world. Through its selfless actions, Spark demonstrates that even the smallest efforts can lead to meaningful change. By creating a visually compelling narrative using Blender and Unreal Engine, the project serves as both an engaging story and a powerful reminder of humanity's responsibility to care for the environment and work toward a sustainable future.
Tools and Software Blender: Used for 3D modeling, animation, and character design. Justification: Blender's flexibility and open-source nature allowed for detailed and efficient creation of Sparks and the environment. Unreal Engine: Used for rendering and real-time visualization. Justification: Unreal's dynamic lighting and real-time rendering provided cinematic visuals to enhance the storytelling. Justification: Ensures high-quality textures to create a more immersive world.
Methodology
Pre-Production: Concept creation, storyboard development, and character design for Sparks.
Production: 3D modeling of characters and environments in Blender. Rigging and animation of Sparks for smooth and lifelike movement.
Integration of assets and environment in Unreal Engine for lighting and rendering. Post-Production: Adding sound design, music.
