👩🏻‍💻 My Role

As the lead designer for this project, my responsibility was to translate the client's vision into a tangible product.
I worked closely with the client, meeting several times a week, to ensure their expectations were aligned with the purpose and value of their business. Through this collaboration, I was able to create features and user flows that accurately reflected the client's needs.

🎯 Challenge

As technology continues to evolve, the trucking logistics industry is confronted with several challenges, including the management of loads and drivers, payment delays, and inadequate end-to-end communications.
Our primary objective was to develop a digital product that caters to users who are not tech-savvy. The target audience and early adopters of this product are typically more conservative and do not rely on software to enhance their work processes.
Therefore, the key challenge was to create a product that would improve their productivity and boost their company's growth, despite their insufficient knowledge about its benefits.

📢 Statement

“TruckAtlas is a platform that bridges communication gaps, simplifies processes, provides security, and drives efficiencies between receivers, industries and trucking logistics partners of all types and sizes.”

🔍 Discovery & Solution

The discovery phase was conducted continuously throughout the development of the flows at a medium fidelity level. We engaged with early adopters and the client to gain a comprehensive understanding of the client's vision and ideas.
Our research revealed the need to establish different levels of access for account owners, admins, and members. By adjusting the features based on the level of access, we were able to create a secure workspace for companies while also enhancing productivity.
Adapting the software to accommodate different types of companies and team sizes emerged as a solution and challenge during our interviews with early adopters. Through multiple interviews and meetings, we gained a deeper understanding of their work, enabling us to establish rules and criteria for features that can cater to various companies and teams.
One of our primary objectives in building the solution was to ensure that TruckAtlas could scale, not only in terms of the software but also in terms of the user base.

💭 User Empathy Map

📖 Story Telling

Alex had been managing the company's operations manually, relying on traditional paper-based processes and spreadsheets. As the company grew, so did the complexity of the tasks at hand, and Alex found themselves facing significant challenges in keeping up.
One day, as the company expanded its fleet and took on more clients, Alex realized that the conventional methods were becoming increasingly inefficient. Dispatching trucks and scheduling deliveries had become a daunting task, with constant changes and updates leading to confusion and delays. The lack of a centralized system made it difficult to coordinate with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders.
Furthermore, the company's reliance on paper-based processes was causing administrative headaches. The ever-growing stack of paperwork, from bills of lading to compliance documents, seemed to multiply every day. Maintaining accurate records and ensuring regulatory compliance had become a laborious task without a streamlined system in place.
