I designed and developed a website for a friend, Zachary Anderson, an emerging music producer. The aim was to create a minimalistic yet eye-catching platform that reflects who Zach is and what he hopes to achieve, while serving as a foundation to showcase his music.

There was a major problem with the website not being responsive, this was solved through various testing and more updated responsiveness.

When starting the project out neither Zach or myself knew the direction of design to take. This was solved through both of us sitting down and talking and going through different musicians websites to take inspiration from. More on the design process later.

If I were to continue to develop this project there are many things I would add to Zach's website.

First of which is embedded music from Spotify - this would display on the main page above the Newsletter button.

Second I would continue to improve the admin page abilities, giving Zach better control over it - such as adding the embedded music himself.

The design process began with both Zach and I talking where we explored examples of other artist websites. Then using a few websites we both liked choosing ones that fit with Zach's aesthetic preferences. How did he want to come across etc.

Once Zach understood the direction He wanted the website to go in design way, I created some draft examples of what the website could look like, shown above:

During the design I made sure that it would make sure to be a responsive design that is also visually appealing. In the development stage, as I was creating it made sure to utilise iterative development to ensure it is always up to date with what Zach wants it to look like.

The project was finished with Zach being happy with the result. He enjoyed the openness and the admin controls. I was particularly happy with the article creator since I have not made something like that before. I would ultimately love to continue to work on this project and have greatly enjoyed my time working with Zach and as his career grows will most certainly be helping him add more features.
