Polish, live: a hero that fixes itself

Pedro Guarize

Pedro Guarize

Self-initiated, for my own site.
The hero opens the way products often ship, then fixes itself, one flaw at a time, about a second each. Every value is read from the page as the browser renders it, not written by hand:
Type: Arial at 46/1.4 → Mona Sans at 68/1.02, tracked tighter as it grows
Left edges: 3 → 1
Contrast: 2.8:1 → 13.1:1, measured against the gradient behind the text
Target: 30 px → 44 px
Keycaps: a grey blockout → sculpted caps in three.js, loaded after the text has painted
It runs once, can be skipped and replayed, and stays still under reduced motion.
That’s a Polish Sprint, done on my own product.

My site’s hero opens the way products often ship, then fixes itself: type, edges, contrast, target and keycaps, each one measured.
