One of my favourite concept art pieces to date, perhaps. My art tells stories better, in my opinion. The profundity of the concept is shown through each component of this scene.
The blaze in the midst of the landscape catches Lone Rider's attention, and a raven is keeping watch.
I used a really straightforward strategy, starting with a basic drawing of the reference concept. Then I went for the hunt and I found different elements and then made a composition. After blending each object in the image, I began painting over it to give it an oil paint illusion. Loose brush strokes and textured brushes really helped in producing a sense of detail.
