Meta Ads Lead Generation | B2B Software & IT Services
Building a multi-channel Meta Ads acquisition system using Instant Forms, website conversions, WhatsApp, and audience testing to generate B2B leads efficiently.
Project Overview
I managed Meta Ads campaigns for a software and IT services business, with the objective of generating qualified leads for services such as software development, website development, and other business technology solutions.
My focus was not on reach or engagement alone. I built the campaigns around one core objective:
Turn targeted Meta audiences into measurable business enquiries.
To achieve this, I tested multiple conversion paths—including Meta Instant Forms, website lead forms, and WhatsApp conversations—while continuously optimizing audiences, creatives, placements, and campaign budgets.
What I Achieved
I successfully generated leads across multiple campaigns while maintaining efficient costs across different acquisition methods.
Some campaign-level results shown in the account include:
442 Leads at £0.26 per lead
59 Leads at £0.47 per lead
57 Leads at £0.22 per lead
I also generated enquiries through WhatsApp messaging campaigns alongside website and Instant Form lead-generation campaigns.
This allowed me to compare different conversion journeys and identify which combinations of audience + creative + offer + conversion destination produced stronger results.
The Challenge
B2B software advertising on Meta requires more than broad targeting.
The challenge was to reach people with genuine business requirements while controlling lead costs and preventing budget from being consumed by low-intent audiences.
I therefore focused on testing and optimizing the complete acquisition journey:
Target Audience → Creative → Ad Message → Conversion Method → Lead
My Meta Ads Strategy
Multi-Channel Lead Generation
Rather than depending on one lead source, I tested several ways for prospects to contact the business:
Meta Instant Forms for low-friction lead capture
Website Lead Forms for prospects ready to explore the service further
WhatsApp Campaigns for direct conversations with potential customers
This gave me greater flexibility to optimize campaigns according to how different audiences preferred to convert.
Audience Testing & Segmentation
I tested different audience groups rather than relying on a single targeting setup.
This included interest-based audiences and professional/business-oriented segments designed to reach prospects more likely to require software and digital services.
Audience performance was continuously compared using lead volume, cost per lead, CTR, CPC, CPM, and engagement data.
Creative & Messaging Testing
Different creatives and messages were tested to understand which combinations attracted stronger responses.
I analyzed performance at the individual ad level and used the results to identify stronger creatives while reducing spend on weaker variations.
Performance-Led Optimization
I continuously monitored and optimized:
• Cost per lead
• Lead volume
• CTR and CPC
• CPM
• Audience performance
• Creative performance
• Instant Form performance
• Website lead generation
• WhatsApp conversations
• Budget allocation
• Campaign and ad-set performance
Instead of optimizing for vanity metrics, I used lead-generation performance as the primary decision-making signal.
My Role as Paid Media Specialist
I personally handled the Meta Ads process across:
Campaign Strategy • Meta Ads Manager • B2B Lead Generation • Audience Research • Campaign & Ad Set Structure • Instant Forms • Website Conversions • WhatsApp Ads • Creative Testing • A/B Testing • Budget Management • CPL Optimization • Performance Analysis
Business Impact
The project demonstrated that Meta could become an efficient lead-acquisition channel for a B2B software and IT services business.
One of the strongest campaigns generated 442 leads at approximately £0.26 per lead, while other campaign and audience tests produced leads at different cost levels and helped identify opportunities for further optimization.
More importantly, I built a campaign structure capable of acquiring prospects through three different conversion paths—Instant Forms, website forms, and WhatsApp conversations.
The value of resulting sales and client contracts is not disclosed for confidentiality.
The Outcome
This project demonstrates how I approach Meta performance marketing:
Research the audience → Build multiple acquisition paths → Test creatives → Measure CPL → Optimize continuously → Scale what works.
My goal as a Paid Media Specialist isn't simply to deliver impressions or clicks.
I focus on turning paid social traffic into measurable leads and real sales opportunities for the business.
