The Omar family lived in a beautiful Nubian village on the banks of the Nile, and they depended on the river to meet their daily needs of water, agriculture and fishing. But in 1960, the Egyptian government decided to build the High Dam to generate electricity and improve irrigation in the delta, and this would lead to the flooding of many Nubian lands and villages.
Omar and his family suffered greatly when they were told that they had to leave their home and village and move to a new, far away area. They were sad, afraid and angry because they didn't want to leave their place of origin and move to a strange place.
Omar and his family were forced to leave their home and move to a new place in the desert, and they were feeling sad and nostalgic. However, Omar managed to find hope in the promise that he would one day return to his native land and regain his old life. In this way, Omar and his family were able to stay optimistic and prepare for the future, while leaving behind their home and beautiful area on the banks of the Nile.
