In developing the Calico brand guide, the goal was to create a cohesive identity that embodies the brand’s distinct personality while resonating deeply with its target audience. The name “Calico” was carefully selected to evoke a sense of history and craftsmanship, drawing inspiration from the famed Indian fabric originating in Kerala. This fabric is renowned for its intricate patterns and rich heritage, qualities that perfectly align with the brand's vision of elegance, premium quality, and timeless appeal.
Logo Design
The logo is a centerpiece of Calico’s visual identity, designed to communicate both sophistication and exotic allure. The emblem takes the form of a finely cut diamond, a symbol of precision, luxury, and durability. Its composition of silvery gray and golden yellow segments further enhances its premium feel, with the silvery gray symbolizing elegance and subtlety, while the golden yellow adds warmth and richness. The interplay of these tones reflects Calico’s balance of traditional craftsmanship with modern sensibilities, making it instantly recognizable and memorable.
