While fuchcia was being reshaped pivot by pivot, I tried to build a separate, smaller app around endo. I struggled, I stalled, and I had to stop. Then I came back, rebuilt from scratch, and shipped. The result is endoPartner, a simple, free, interactive game for couples navigating endometriosis together.

First attempt, Rebuild from scratch, Live and free, Nothing forced
A standalone endo app; it stalled, and I stopped.A game, an interactive app: smaller, sharper, shipped.Couples play it, for free, no account, no tracking.Useful as is; the lessons feed fuchcia.
What Failed First
The first build was an app, for a challenge. It stalled. Stopping was hard to accept, not because of the time spent, but because I cared too much to just walk away. Failure didn’t close the door. It made me sit in front of it longer, figuring out how to open it differently.
The Rebuild Decision
I came back with a different shape: not an app, a game. Simple, interactive, focused on one job, helping partners understand what living with endo actually means. Because endo doesn’t only affect the person living with it; it affects the relationship, the communication, the dynamic. Most partners want to help. They just don’t always know how.
Free is not a freemium strategy or a growth play. It’s a choice. I’m not building endoPartner to scale. I built it to be useful, and to sharpen my skills as a builder. No investors, no big corp, no pressure. Just users who find it useful and come back.
If it helps one couple feel less alone in this, that’s already more than enough.
Live since 23 April 2026. Free, no account, no tracking · try endoPartner
The promise: built for two. Free for everyone.
endoPartner is also proof of method. fuchcia is where I’m going, the big work, the long work. endoPartner is what happened on the side, while I was stuck: I create my own terrain. I don’t wait for the right conditions; I shape the ground myself, and then I build on it.
What changed in the rebuild and why
Every decision, its rationale, and the outcome.
Type, Decision, Rationale, Outcome
✕ Stop
Halt the first build. A full app for a challenge that failed because I didn’t master the platform.Stopped, sat with it, came back with a clearer head.
→ Sharpen
A game, an interactive appOne job, help partners get it, needs play, not features.Smaller scope, faster build, something people actually finish.
★ New Build for the couple, not the patient
Endo strains the relationship too; partners want to help but don’t know how.A shared experience instead of another solo tracker.
✓ Keep
Free foreverNot freemium, not growth, a deliberate choice to be useful. No paywall, no account, no pressure to scale.
✓ Keep
Builder-owned, no investorsSame stance as fuchcia: shape your own terrain until the right backing finds you.Full freedom on scope, pace, and purpose.
◦ Live
Ship 23 April 2026
Done beats stalled; shipping is the lesson.
Live, in couples’ hands, and the proof I keep moving even when I fail.
AI considerations
Where AI could add value: generating discussion prompts tailored to what each partner has actually shared in a session, and suggesting small, concrete commitments once both answers are revealed.
What data it would need: only the couple’s own answers within that session, already collected and RLS-protected. No history needs to leave the session to make the suggestion useful.
What I deliberately scoped out, and why: any medical or diagnostic framing, any AI moderation of the shared community feed, and any use of the couple’s answers beyond generating that session’s prompts and suggestions. Health-adjacent advice from a model carries real risk of harm, and it’s not something a solo builder can responsibly own. AI here augments a conversation between two humans. It doesn’t get to be the authority in the room.
