Background
CoverDoc.ai, an innovative platform empowering job seekers globally with AI-driven cover letters, company research, and interview preparation tools, sought to enhance its existing website design to improve user experience and engagement. As the lead designer, I embarked on a comprehensive redesign project to address various challenges and opportunities identified through thorough analysis and user feedback.
Objective
The primary goals were to increase the "Visitor to Registration" conversion rate, reduce abandonment, and align the page with the latest product messaging. Additionally, the project aimed to address specific design problems and opportunities, such as ineffective use of product images, inconsistent use of icons and illustrations, spacing issues on desktop and mobile, and messaging challenges.
Approach
- HotJar Heat Maps Analysis:
- Utilized HotJar heat maps to identify navigation issues and user behavior patterns.
- Analyzed session recordings and exit surveys to gain insights into user interactions and pain points.
- Navigation Enhancement:
- Introduced a navigation bar to provide clear pathways for users to navigate through different sections of the website.
- Organized content logically to guide users through the job seeker journey, from cover letter creation to interview preparation.
- Encouraging Scroll Engagement:
- Implemented motion graphics and animations strategically to captivate users' attention and encourage further scrolling.
- Structured the webpage to prioritize essential content, compelling users to explore beyond the initial 10% of the page.
- Visual Design and Brand Guidelines:
- Created motion graphics and animations to enhance visual appeal and storytelling, effectively communicating CoverDoc.ai's value proposition.
- Developed a comprehensive brand guideline to maintain consistency across all design elements, including typography, color palette, and imagery.
- Deliverables and Support:
- Updated Framer pages and provided Figma files, image assets, and brand guidelines for seamless integration into the development process.
