Who Samira is

Samira Dadashi is a singer, voiceover artist and event host based in Vienna. She performs in English, French, German and Farsi. She's hosted at the Formula 1 Austrian Grand Prix and interviewed the drivers there. She's been the voice for IKEA, Billa Reisen, Ruefa and New One campaigns. She was on the cover of Wienerin. She sings at weddings all over Austria.
Almost none of that was on her old website.
Her old site was one page. Her name, a photo, the line "Singer | Voice Over | Host", and five social links. That was the whole site. If you wanted to book her, you had to find her email.
She came to me for a full rebrand and a site that could actually get her booked.
What was wrong with the old site
Samira's old site
Samira's old site
The old site only worked if you already knew who she was.
That's fine for a fan looking her up. It doesn't work for the people who actually hire her, like couples planning a wedding, event producers, or agencies looking for a voice. They land on the site not knowing her, they're usually looking at a few other singers at the same time, and they want to know one thing: is she right for my event?
The old site didn't answer that. It showed a photo and sent you to Spotify. Every link on the page took you off the site, right at the point where someone was closest to booking her.
There was a second problem. The site was hand coded, so every small change meant asking a developer. A new credit, a new testimonial, a new date. So she just stopped updating it. Years of good work never made it onto the site because it was easier to leave it alone than to get it changed. That's the main reason we went with Framer.

What we did differently
Samira asked for something simple. Basically the old site, but nicer.
I didn't think that would work, and I told her.
A minimal site makes sense when your name already sells you. Samira isn't there yet. What sells her is her range: four languages, three different services, and a client list most singers in Vienna don't have. A simple site hides all of that.
So instead of a nicer business card, I built the site around one question. What are you planning? Weddings, private celebrations, corporate events. Three sections, each written for a different kind of client, and all of them lead to the same button, which is book a call.
I also wanted to stop sending people away. The old page pushed everyone out to Spotify and Instagram. On the new site there are four live piano covers, one in each language, and they play right there on the page. You don't have to believe she sings in four languages, you hear it while you scroll.
We built the site in English and German only. She sings in four languages but she gets hired in two, so those are the two we translated.

What I designed and built
I did everything on this one. Copywriting, brand, design in Figma, and the build in Framer. Two weeks from start to launch.
Three pages, Home, About and Contact, in English and German. The homepage runs in one order: hero, what she performs, services split by occasion, the four language covers, testimonials, voiceover and hosting credits, a short intro to her, then book a call.
The main thing I did was move her proof to the places where people doubt her. The F1 hosting, the Wienerin cover and the brand campaigns sit right under the voiceover section. The wedding testimonials, with the church, the town and the date, sit right under the wedding service. All of this already existed. It just wasn't anywhere on her old site.
We used Framer so she could run the site herself. She adds new credits, testimonials and dates on her own now, without a developer and without waiting on me.

What changed after launch
The new site has a perfect Lighthouse score, loads much faster than the old one, and both traffic and conversions went up.
The bigger change is that the site isn't stuck anymore. The old one hadn't been updated in years. This one gets updated whenever she books something worth adding.

What I learned
A personal site isn't a portfolio. It's there to convince one person, and that's whoever is deciding whether to book you.
If it only works for people who already know your name, it's not doing its job.
