Zymm AI

Rebuilding the infrastructure behind an AI-powered job search platform

Role: CTO / Full-Stack Engineer Focus: Architecture, Backend, Frontend, APIs, Infrastructure, AI Product Development

Overview

Zymm AI is an AI-powered job search platform built to help people find and pursue relevant job opportunities more efficiently.
When I joined as CTO, the product had already been in development for several years but needed its core technology rebuilt and brought to a production-ready state.
I took ownership of the technical direction and rebuilt the core infrastructure from the ground up.

The Challenge

The existing product needed a stronger technical foundation before it could scale into a real production service.
The challenge wasn't simply adding another feature. It required rethinking how the product was structured across the stack, rebuilding core systems, and turning the existing concept into something users could actually use.
The main goals were:
Rebuild the core infrastructure
Establish a cleaner application architecture
Develop and integrate backend services and APIs
Rework the user-facing application
Connect the product's data flows end-to-end
Deploy the platform to production
Get the product ready for paying customers

What I Built

Core infrastructure

Rebuilt the core technical infrastructure rather than continuing to patch an existing foundation.
This included restructuring the application's architecture, backend services, APIs, data flows, and supporting infrastructure.

Full-stack application

Worked across the entire product rather than operating exclusively on one layer.
I handled both backend and frontend development, connecting the user-facing application to the underlying services and data infrastructure.

AI-powered workflow

Built the technical foundation required for an AI-driven job-search experience, including the systems responsible for processing information and connecting the AI functionality to the rest of the application.

Production deployment

Took the rebuilt platform from development through deployment and production operation.
The objective was not simply to produce a working prototype, but to deliver a product capable of serving real users.

Technical Ownership

As CTO, I owned the technical direction of the product and worked across:
System architecture
Backend development
Frontend development
API design
Data flows
Infrastructure
Deployment
Product engineering
Technical decision-making
This required making architectural decisions across the entire system instead of optimizing an isolated component.

Result

The core infrastructure was rebuilt and the platform was successfully deployed.
Zymm AI went from a product that had been in development for roughly three years to a launched product with paying subscribers.
The biggest outcome was turning an existing, long-running development effort into a production product that could actually be used and monetized.

My Contribution

Architecture
Reworked the system architecture
Rebuilt core infrastructure
Defined technical direction
Backend
Developed backend services
Built APIs and application logic
Connected core data flows
Frontend
Reworked the user-facing application
Integrated frontend functionality with backend services
Infrastructure
Prepared the application for production
Deployed the rebuilt platform
Established the foundation for continued development
Leadership
Owned technical decisions as CTO
Worked across the entire engineering stack
Took the product from redevelopment to launch

Outcome

3 years of development → rebuilt core infrastructure → production launch → paying subscribers
The project was a full-stack engineering and architecture challenge, requiring both hands-on development and technical ownership across the entire product.
