United Caribbean Lines has pitched a new travel package that would include an alternative travel method to Florida, Mexico and Cuba.
The United Caribbean Line Package would use a new travel method in the hopes of encouraging travel to these three areas: ferries. Previously, Caribbean cruise tours have kept most of the money spent by travelers out of the region and into the hands of cruise trip owners. This phenomenon has restricted a potential of monetary flow from businesses such as resorts, restaurants and guided tours on land in these regions.
A ferry option has therefore been suggested as an alternative, as a method of introducing more money into these regions’ economies and as a method of allowing travelers more options for travel. Travelers would be allowed the option to arrive in Florida and take their automobile to either Cuba or Mexico.
Ferries that would carry automobiles from Florida to both Mexico and the Caribbean would be more affordable for travelers and would boost in more money for the areas being visited. Resort operators would reap the benefits of great prices and services for guests wanting to visit more than one location per vacation. The ferry would also make the U.S./Florida/Mexico package an option for visitors from Europe and South America. Cuba and Mexico, according to United Caribbean Lines, would be marketed as one sale. Cuba and Mexico have announced plans to work together on this project.
