Braincheck - Agency Website

Braincheck is a german agency which consults other companies on their strategy towards employee training and working culture.

I helped them to redesign and build their website on a stack better fitting their needs.

The old website

Build on Wordpress

A lot of sketchy plugins

Pageload was slow and dynamic content was buggy

The rebuild

Started designing in Figma with the customer

Set on a custom build site based on React with the use of static site generator: Gatsby

Pageload is now instant and customer had full control over the components used on the side, hence no need for sketchy plugins

The takeaway for me

Gatsby is a great tool to build blazingly fast websites. The build in image optimization pipeline and lazy-load image component are lovely to work with.

Since we discussed on no backend of some sort (CMS) the website was build fast. The customer didn't want the overhead since the content would not change frequently. So far this has played out ok, but i would defenitly be in favor of a CMS on my next project, simply because it's so easy to integrate it with headless ones.
