Suffix Digital had the privilege of designing and developing the IoT-driven Android Application for the Overhead Automated Charging Device (OH-ACD) — India’s first automated e-Truck charging solution by ARAI, in collaboration with IIT Madras and COEZET (Centre of Excellence for Zero Emission Trucking).
Built using Kotlin and WebSocket programming, the app enables real-time communication between charging stations and a centralized control platform. Our goal was to create a secure, intuitive, and scalable interface to support India’s next-generation EV charging infrastructure.
Key Functionalities:
🔹 User authentication and access control
🔹 Real-time charging start/stop via WebSocket
🔹 Parking position validation through mobile sensors
🔹 Live charging station discovery (map and list view)
🔹 Seamless payment integration
🔹 Centralized data monitoring and analytics
During testing, the hardware prototype was unavailable, so we simulated IoT data exchange using Postman — sending mock data (left screen) and validating real-time responses in the Android app (right screen). This ensured end-to-end functionality even before hardware integration.
This project is a proud contribution to India’s Make in India, Zero Emission, and Smart Mobility initiatives — demonstrating Suffix Digital’s expertise in IoT-powered Android development and connected technology ecosystems.
