Well, well, well! We did it! Iโm excited to share that ๐๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ took home ๐ง๐๐ ๐ฎ๐ก๐ ๐ฝ๐น๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐ผ๐๐ฟ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฐ, the ๐๐ณ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฐ๐ฎ ๐๐๐ฝ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ ๐ฆ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ฒ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ! ๐ After weeks of hard work and collaboration, we had the chance to go head-to-head with over ๐ญ๐ฑ๐ฌ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐บ๐ from across Africa. It was intense but so rewarding. We tackled some pretty awesome challenges, like: โช ๐ก๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: Forecasting solar energy production to make power more reliable in Sub-Saharan Africa. โซ ๐๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐น ๐ฃ๐ต๐ฎ๐๐ฒ: Predicting future sales to help businesses manage inventory and boost profits. ๐ ๐๐น๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐น ๐ฅ The competition was super tight, especially in the last 4 hours when the pressure really mounted and the atmosphere shifted drastically! We knew we had to bring our A-game. In the end, we were right there with ๐ฆ๐ถ๐นรช from Ivory Coast (๐ฅ) and ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐ฒ๐ป from Mali (๐ฅ). Huge shoutout to them for their amazing work. Big thanks to my teammates
Haitam Bouanane and
Alban NYANTUDRE. You guys were awesomeโcouldnโt have done this without you as the final solution was the elixir of some great, out of the box ideas..! And a special thanks to
Data Afrique Hub,
OpenCEMS Industrial Chair, and
data354 for putting together such a great competition. This is just the beginning for A2H AI. Weโve got more exciting things ahead and canโt wait to keep pushing the boundaries of data science in Africa. Thanks to everyone who supported us along the wayโyour encouragement means everything! ๐ฃ๐ฆ: In case youโre wondering, A2H are the initials of our first names. ๐
