COMPETITION - DATATOUR 2024 - 2ND PLACE

Well, well, well! We did it! I’m excited to share that 𝗔𝟮𝗛 𝗔𝗜 took home 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝟮𝗡𝗗 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, the 𝗔𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗖𝘂𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲! 🏆 After weeks of hard work and collaboration, we had the chance to go head-to-head with over 𝟭𝟱𝟬 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘀 from across Africa. It was intense but so rewarding. We tackled some pretty awesome challenges, like: ⚪ 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲: Forecasting solar energy production to make power more reliable in Sub-Saharan Africa. ⚫ 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗵𝗮𝘀𝗲: Predicting future sales to help businesses manage inventory and boost profits. 𝗔 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 🥈 The competition was super tight, especially in the last 4 hours when the pressure really mounted and the atmosphere shifted drastically! We knew we had to bring our A-game. In the end, we were right there with 𝗦𝗶𝗹ê from Ivory Coast (🥇) and 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗲𝗻 from Mali (🥉). Huge shoutout to them for their amazing work. 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗠𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 🤝 Big thanks to my teammates Haitam Bouanane and Alban NYANTUDRE. You guys were awesome—couldn’t have done this without you as the final solution was the elixir of some great, out of the box ideas..! And a special thanks to Data Afrique Hub, OpenCEMS Industrial Chair, and data354 for putting together such a great competition. This is just the beginning for A2H AI.
