Sometimes the best stories start with a mistake. In this case, it was a single missing letter. Macpac had stitched “Wilderess” instead of “Wilderness” onto 12,000 jackets. Rather than hide the error, they turned it into something meaningful: a commitment to plant a native forest in Banks Peninsula, New Zealand.
That’s where I came in. I was handed hours of raw footage and asked to craft the story of the Wilderess Forest. I took care of the full post-production process—editing, sound, colour, and motion graphics. The result? A short documentary that feels as genuine as the people in it, and as grounded as the trees they planted.
