This project involved designing and building a dedicated website for a North Wales-based private maths tutor. The site’s primary goal was to present the tutor’s services clearly and professionally to potential clients—students and parents—across the Conwy region.

I used Squarespace for its ease of maintenance and built-in CMS features, but applied custom CSS and configuration tweaks to achieve a cleaner layout, improved navigation, and a more modern look and feel than the default templates provided.

- Design & Layout: Customized a Squarespace template to match a clean, academic tone. Used visual hierarchy to make subject offerings and contact information immediately clear.

- Copy & Structure: Helped draft concise, informative copy that explains the tutor’s approach, subjects covered, and how to get in touch.

- Mobile Optimization: Ensured all pages rendered cleanly across devices, with fonts and spacing adjusted for readability.

- Custom Styling: Wrote custom CSS to override default design elements, improving whitespace, alignment, and navigation behavior.

- Booking Flow: Integrated contact forms and call-to-action buttons that guide users toward making an enquiry or booking a session.

- SEO Setup: Configured titles, descriptions, and metadata to improve visibility in local search results for terms like “Maths Tutor Conwy”.

The finished site gave the tutor a professional online presence, improving discoverability and trust. It serves as a clear hub for enquiries and supports the growth of their client base in the local area. The tutor reported a noticeable increase in contact form submissions following launch.
