In August 2023, news outlets around the world reported the discovery of what could be the earliest Olmec stone pyramid ever discovered in the Mexican state of Puebla. Our team was the first to go and film on site. We found the ruins of a sprawling ancient city, with dozens of pyramid mounds, some over 15 meters high, and at least three large ballcourts. Yet the question remains: Is this really an Olmec stone pyramid, and just how old is the site?
