For the National Level 24-hour Hackathon organized by the Computer Society of India and Whitehatians SRMVEC Cyber Club, the client sought to develop a robust web platform to facilitate seamless participation and management throughout the event.
Details about My Contribution:
In this project, I spearheaded the design and development of the full-stack web platform. Leveraging technologies such as ReactJS, HTML, XML, and CSS, I crafted a dynamic website comprising six pages: events, hackathon topics, judge panel, guidelines, and an about page. To add an extra layer of engagement, I incorporated Lottie files for captivating animations.
On the backend, my focus was on real-time participant tracking and streamlined data management. I integrated MongoDB to store registration details, assigning a unique ID to each participant. These IDs were then embedded within QR codes, linking to the hackathon site with the participant's unique ID as the site path (e.g., hackatank.tech/qr/verify/1001).
To ensure secure access, I implemented Firebase Google login for authorized individuals within the organizing team. This granted access to a dashboard displaying real-time participant movement (IN/OUT) and lunch status. With a simple click, this data was seamlessly entered into Google Sheets using the Google Sheets API, enhancing usability and administrative efficiency.
Sumary of Project Success:
Through meticulous design and development, the web platform significantly enhanced the hackathon experience for both participants and organizers. The integration of real-time tracking, QR code-based registration, and streamlined data management not only simplified participation but also provided organizers with invaluable insights for smooth event execution. Overall, the project achieved its goal of creating a user-friendly and efficient platform for a successful hackathon event.
