Digital Illustration for Latin American Contest

"Un Silencio Muy Largo"

This illustration was created for the "2024 Impulso Latino" contest, inspired by a poem titled "Soledad", which translates to "Solitude", by Colombian poet and writer Meira del Mar.

When I began sketching the idea, I immediately thought of the indescribable joy of being alone and one with nature, which the poem beautifully conveys. Vivid images of the lush landscapes of my homeland came to mind.

The poem also brought back memories of my recent trip to the Guachaca River in Colombia, where the lush vegetation and the gentle mountain breeze embrace you, creating a deep, soothing sense of peace.
