Memories of Us

Memories of Us is an illustrated children’s book that comprises a collection of short stories shared by people from all over the world, as they recount their favorite family memories. These stories span across different backgrounds, cultures, and definitions of family. The concept of “family” varies from person to person and “Memories of Us” aims to capture the shared experiences and emotions that can come from the wide range of “families” people form.I chose to format these stories into a children’s book to encourage a sense of nostalgia as readers encounter both funny and emotional anecdotes that may remind them of their own memories. The goal of this book is to visually reflect the memories that often stay in the back of our minds. It is one thing to remember a special time in our lives, and it is another to experience and see it come to life.
