Editing a 2-Hour Multi-Cam Podcast on Faith, Failure & Reinvention (Gold Rush's Todd Hoffman)

A conversation this raw needed to feel effortless, not edited. Todd Hoffman — reality TV star, entrepreneur, and someone who's lost and rebuilt everything more than once, opened up about faith, financial collapse, and what actually holds a person together during two hours of honest, unscripted conversation.
Before the full story starts, a fast-cut "in this episode..." trailer pulls the sharpest, most compelling moments from the conversation, the rawest admissions, the hardest-hit losses, the lines that make you lean in, turning a two-hour commitment into an easy yes.
For the episode itself, my job was to disappear into the story. I synced multiple camera angles into one seamless conversation, color-matched every shot so nothing pulled focus, and cleaned the audio until it felt like sitting across the table from him. The podcast edit stayed simple on purpose, no distracting cuts, no over-produced transitions, and it is because the goal was letting the story carry the weight, not the editing.
The result: An attention-grabbing trailer and a two-hour episode so naturally paced and beautifully told it feels less like an edited show and more like a real conversation.
