We often start writing in the dark and think well-written and original content will attract valuable traffic instantly.

But, a car doesn't speed up without pieces missing in the engine. Well, gaining traffic is the same process, and SEO is the engine.

That's exactly what I experienced. Through trial and error, I went from zero to getting 4k clicks, 135k impressions, and gaining traffic on 288 keywords in less than 6 months.

The main trap, though, is falling prey to outdated SEO tactics, and regurgitating cold hard facts around keywords.

In the midst of AI-generated content, let's not forget that we're here to answer questions and problems (real) people have. And cold hard facts don't hook readers, emotions do.

Telling anecdotes, challenges, and stories with spark, joy, and personality differentiates your content from others - so here it is, your second ingredient is storytelling.

And finally, the third ingredient is providing value with research-based arguments and practical takeaways.

My work, then, is threefold:

Define real questions people have about your product, and industry with SEO and define topics around keywords;

Write opinionated content with unique takes & fun storytelling;

Make sure it is well-researched and provides practical takeaways.
