Doctor Who: “Marco Polo” | AI-Assisted Film Restoration

I spent more than ten months reconstructing the lost 1964 Doctor Who serial “Marco Polo” from surviving photographs, low-resolution screen captures, audio recordings, and the original script.

The project combined archival image restoration with AI-assisted animation to recreate facial expressions, character movement, and scene continuity while respecting the visual language of the original production.

I restored and prepared source images, rebuilt missing visual moments, synchronized movement to the surviving audio, and assembled the material into a complete long-form reconstruction. The finished project runs approximately three hours and was created with support and feedback from members of the Doctor Who restoration community, including Ian Levine.
