HayHay: The Ultimate Horse Enthusiast Community

HayHay is a mobile app that serves as a platform for horse enthusiasts to socialize, learn, and seek guidance from verified experts. It provides a space for horse lovers to connect with one another and gain knowledge through interactions with knowledgeable experts and a supportive community. HayHay is inclusive and welcomes riders of all levels of experience and expertise to join and participate in discussions, making it an accessible resource for anyone interested in horse-related topics.

In my role developing the HayHay app, I spearheaded the development process, essentially building the application from the ground up. With the unwavering support of a dedicated development team, we accomplished the impressive feat of releasing the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within just 6 months. Notably, I took on the responsibility of mentoring a junior engineer, playing a pivotal role in their professional development.

Throughout this project, my responsibilities extended to optimizing the app for speed and smoothness, employing techniques such as scroll view performance optimization and efficient data management. I also made significant contributions to the development of key features, including the implementation of a user-friendly library feature, enhancements to the primary feed, and the automation of system notifications.

My comprehensive skill set in full-stack development was evident as I single-handedly designed and built a responsive company website using Gatsby. To streamline the app deployment process, I effectively automated the release procedures. This multifaceted project harnessed various technologies, including React, Expo, React Native, Recoil, JavaScript, TypeScript, Firestore, Firebase Functions, Gatsby, and more.
