NWL Admin Portal — Custom Dashboard for a Mobile App Ecosystem

Nursing With Light (NWL) has a highly successful, active WordPress infrastructure that handles their marketing, blog, and a massive legacy quiz engine boasting nearly 30,000 user results. As the startup expanded by launching a comprehensive mobile application, featuring interactive forums, audio resources, and eBooks, they needed a way to manage this new mobile ecosystem without disrupting their existing WordPress setup.

The startup urgently needed a centralized, high-performance administrative portal to give stakeholders complete oversight over mobile app activity, user history, and real-time platform statistics.

To support the growing mobile application, I engineered a dedicated, custom-built administrative dashboard that interfaces directly with a new, robust backend architecture, running seamlessly alongside their legacy WordPress site.

As the Lead Frontend Engineer, I architected and shipped the entire admin portal from the ground up, focusing on speed, security, and a seamless user experience.

Next.js & React Query — built a lightning-fast, responsive frontend with Next.js, using React Query for efficient data fetching, caching, and state management of complex datasets.

Modern UI/UX — developed a clean, intuitive interface using Shadcn UI, tailored to align with the internal design system and brand guidelines.

Secure Authentication — implemented Better Auth for enterprise-grade security and role-based access control for administrative staff.

Seamless API Integration — integrated the frontend portal with a complex external backend written in NestJS, ensuring reliable and swift data synchronization.

The new NWL Admin Portal provides a modern control center for their expanding product line. Administrators now have a unified, bird's-eye view of the entire mobile app ecosystem, able to moderate forums, manage educational content, and dive deep into user analytics, enabling the startup to scale its operations with confidence while preserving its 30,000+ record WordPress quiz system.
