Overview

Notefully was a note-taking app with a conversion rate of under 5% through its main acquisition channels, which was a problem given how much the team was investing.
What was the issue?
The team had two main acquisition channels, TikTok and Reels, which were appropriate for an app. However, traffic was being sent to too many different places, so there was no clear goal for users.
We decided to remove some channels and keep the landing page, since it converted best. This is often a good move for apps, since a straightforward landing page can address questions and feels less intimidating than sending users directly to the App Store.
Some posts linked to the App Store, others to the landing page, and others to a Discord server that almost no one joined. Their bio also did not have a clear CTA or link.
The problem with traffic
While the overall funnel was not working, the acquisition channels were also not well aligned. Short-form platforms like TikTok and Reels often promote content based on trends. This can create a temporary algorithm boost, but it can hurt long term because it does not reliably reach the right people. Everyone sees trends, but not everyone needs the product. More views do not equal more sales. It is better to get fewer, more targeted views from potential buyers.

Conclusion

With a few focused changes to both the funnel and the content strategy, we created a single, clear path from short-form discovery to a high-converting landing page. As a result, conversion improved from 2.5% to 9%, showing how clarity and alignment can drive meaningful growth.
