With over 350 million active users across 600+ media brands, the challenge was to create a design system that would be inviting and simple to encourage casual readers to write their first comment and be robust enough for the existing community.
When we started working with Viafoura, they were planning to phase out their “legacy” platform - the original MVP of their engagement suite that evolved organically over the years as the company grew.
The first thing we did when Propel partnered up with Viafoura was to make an inventory of all user-facing products and identify all reusable components, which became the foundation of the atomic design system.
