Versace Website Redesign

Malan Asanka

Compelling Project Description & Problem Statement
Versace, known globally for its bold and luxurious style, felt their previous website simply didn’t represent the brand’s iconic energy and sophistication. The core problem: users weren’t feeling immediately engaged or impressed, which translated to fewer interactions and lackluster brand moments online. The aim was to design a digital experience that instantly told the Versace story—inviting visitors into a seamless journey that felt as exclusive and vibrant as their collections, while stripping away clutter that distracted from the brand’s impact. When the Versace team reached out, they had one clear goal: “Our website should feel as iconic and compelling as the brand itself. Right now, it’s just not us.” That challenge instantly lit a fire under me—I wanted to make sure every visitor, from first-time explorers to loyal fans, would feel the Versace magic from the very first scroll. So, I dove deep. I spent time truly understanding what makes Versace resonate: boldness, elegance, a touch of surprises, and of course, pure confidence. Using Framer, I obsessed over every interaction, animation, and detail until the entire experience felt unmistakably Versace—striking visuals, fluid motion, and a premium vibe across every device.
Instead of overwhelming visitors, I stripped back the clutter and focused on moments that spark emotion. The site flows smoothly, with each section intentionally designed to invite, delight, and persuade. The result? Bounce rates dropped, people spent more time exploring, and the best endorsement came straight from the team: “Now, our website actually feels like Versace, not just another pretty page.”
Specific Results & Metrics
After launching the new site, metrics reflected significant UX improvements:
Bounce rates dropped—more people explored multiple pages rather than exiting from the home screen.
Average session duration increased, with users spending notably more time on highlighted lookbooks and campaign features.
Qualitative feedback: Sales and support teams reported customers mentioning the site as “striking” and “much easier to navigate.”
While some numbers may be confidential for a brand like Versace, the increases in engagement and quality of new customer inquiries spoke volumes about how well the redesign landed.
My Specific Role & Contributions
Design strategy lead: Conducted deep dives into Versace’s brand voice, competitive analysis, and audience expectations.
Visual and interaction design: Crafted all major layouts, signature animations, and responsive behaviors, ensuring every scroll, tap, and transition matched the Versace aura.
Collaboration and iteration: Ran design critiques, facilitated feedback sessions with Versace’s core team, and refined the UX based on real user testing.

Technologies & Framer Features Utilized
