SHELTER IN PLACE: Control the Noise

The Challenge

Modern life is loud, unpredictable and demanding. Most noise cancellation is sold as escape, but total isolation is not always the answer. The opportunity was to make control feel active, expressive and culturally relevant.

The Insight

The world creates its own kind of fallout. The listener does not need to disappear from it. They need the power to decide what gets through.

The Idea

SHELTER IN PLACE turns adaptive listening into personal noise protection. The S1 is positioned as a premium audio product built around three simple states: Seal, Filter and Open.
The campaign makes that invisible protection visible through the SHELTER LAYER, a transparent acid lime respirator that appears when the headphones are worn. The projection borrows the instantly recognizable language of protective equipment while keeping the real listener and product visible.

The Product System

The S1 uses satin graphite hardware, deep charcoal cushions and restrained acid lime signaling. A physical Boundary Control dial gives the product an ownable functional gesture. The message system stays equally direct:
SHELTER IN PLACE
PROTECT YOUR PEACE
THE END IS LOUD
FILTER THE FALLOUT

The Experience

SHELTER CONTROL extends the same idea into a companion mobile experience. A live acoustic perimeter shows traffic, voices and sirens outside the listener's boundary, then lets the user decide which sources can pass through. The digital control mirrors the physical dial on the headphones so the campaign metaphor becomes a credible product behavior.

My Contribution

I developed the strategy, product positioning, campaign platform, naming, verbal identity, copy system, creative direction, art direction, product visualization, listening state architecture and mobile experience concept. I also built the final four board case study as one cohesive presentation system.

Project Note

SHELTER is an independent fictional brand concept. No client relationship, product performance claim or campaign result is represented.
