This is a visual identity project I developed for Café Arabutã. As a designer, I always look for connections that make sense, and this project has an interesting story.
During my research, I discovered that Arabutã was what some indigenous peoples called pau-brasil (Brazilwood) in the Tupi language, and this shaped the entire concept of the project. The rings present in the brand aren't just decorative elements - they're the rings of the Brazilwood, the tree that gave our country its name and color. And by coincidence (or not), they also resemble the circles that form when we stir coffee.
The red came from this same reference, and together with the raw and earthy tones, it translates the essence of a coffee that is organic and honest from cultivation to cup. Every element was designed to tell this story.
It's very gratifying when a project goes beyond aesthetics, and one of the main challenges of this brand was to step away from the common and obvious. Arabutã isn't just another coffee brand - it's a work that connects design, sustainability, and social responsibility. I'm proud to be part of this story that, literally, comes from the roots of Brazil.
