Therapy Website Design for The Relationship Room

THE BRIEF

Sabrina Barbara Grabow is an Emotionally Focused Therapy-trained couples counsellor and ICEEFT Life Member based in Wellington and Hawke's Bay, New Zealand. She needed a custom Framer website to launch her digital presence and convert visitors into consultation bookings.
The brief wasn't just "build a website." It was: build a site that feels as warm, thoughtful, and deeply human as the therapeutic work itself. A site that explains complex emotional concepts in plain language. A site that helps people in distress understand that they're not alone, and that there's a clear path forward.

Second website with Blessing and my confidence in him has only grown. I'm a detail person (fonts, spacing, the exact shade of background wash) and he handles every last-minute tweak without complaint. Fast, calm, and consistently excellent

THE CHALLENGES

Translating therapy into digital language — Couples counselling is inherently emotional and intimate work. How do you communicate that depth online without feeling clinical or cold? How do you help someone in their hardest season feel safe enough to reach out?
Explaining multiple service offerings clearly — Sabrina offers five distinct services (couples counselling, discernment counselling, family repair, co-parenting support, pre-marital counselling, and infidelity recovery). Each serves a different moment in a relationship's journey. How do you present them without overwhelming someone who's already confused about what they need?
Building trust through design — Therapy is built on trust. The website had to communicate credibility, warmth, and genuine expertise all at once. Not sterile. Not corporate. Human.
Creating a modular, editable template — Sabrina had three more sites to build after this one (TheCounsellingRoom, TheMediationRoom, and a hub site). The first site needed to be built in a way that could be templated, adapted to different color palettes, and remain editable by Sabrina herself without relying on developers for updates.

MY APPROACH

Brand Strategy — Started by understanding the emotional journey of the visitor. Someone arrives at this site in one of the hardest moments of their relationship. They're scared, uncertain, maybe they've tried therapy before and it didn't work. The site needed to meet them there — with warmth, clarity, and hope.
Color & Typography — Built a custom palette of warm rose, deep chocolate, soft cream, and accent colors (light mint and caramel) that feel premium without being cold. Paired serif and sans-serif typography to bridge classical authority with modern accessibility.
Information Architecture — Structured the site as a narrative flow, not a feature list. Home → Services → About → Fees → Contact. Each page answers a question the visitor is silently asking: "What is this?" → "Is this right for me?" → "Who is this person?" → "What will this cost?" → "How do I start?"
Animations & Micro-interactions — Added intentional, subtle animations: pull quotes that animate in as if being written by hand, buttons that press down on click, cards that lift on hover. Each one signals care and attention.

WHAT I BUILT

9-page fully responsive Framer website:
Home (hero, pain points, services overview, pull quotes, testimonials placeholder, footer CTA)
Couples Counselling (detailed service page with what to expect, who it's for, pull quotes)
Discernment Counselling (structured process, three paths, five sessions breakdown)
Family Repair (post-separation family work, approach, who it's for)
Pre-Marital Counselling (new service, building foundations before commitment)
Infidelity Counselling
About (full bio, credentials, logo strip, personal story)
Fees (transparent pricing table, FAQ accordion with 9 answers)
Contact (intake form, after-form reassurance, location details)

Plus:

10 journal/blog articles (CMS-driven, fully populated with dates, categories, cover images)
Custom pull quote component with handwriting-style stroke animation
Native Framer contact form (no third-party embeds)
Sticky navigation with floating CTA
Global animations (scroll reveals, hover states, button interactions)
Full SEO setup (meta titles, descriptions, Open Graph, local keywords for Wellington & Hawke's Bay)
20+ reusable components including service cards, FAQ accordions, CMS journal items, and custom code components.

KEY FEATURES

Pull Quote Animations — Custom React component that animates the left border drawing upward, then text stroking in like a pen writing, then attribution fading in. Subtle, intentional, memorable.
Sticky-scroll Navigation — Full nav on homepage, condenses to logo + "Book a call" button as you scroll past the hero. Keeps the CTA present without being intrusive.
Plain-English Service Pages — Every therapeutic term (EFT, EFFT, Discernment Counselling) is spelled out warmly before any shorthand. Assumes zero prior knowledge. Treats the reader with respect.
Modular, Templatable Build — Built specifically so Sabrina could create three more sites (different color palettes, different service offerings) by duplicating the template and swapping content. No code changes needed.
CMS-Driven Journal — 10 blog articles pre-populated, fully categorized, with publication dates staggered monthly. Ready to grow without developer support.

THE RESULT

The Relationship Room launched as a complete digital presence that matches the caliber of Sabrina's clinical work. Visitors arrive uncertain and leave understanding: there's a clear process, they're not alone, and someone is ready to help them find their way back to each other.
The site doesn't just explain couples therapy. It demonstrates how it works — methodically, warmly, with dignity. It converts curiosity into consultation bookings.
And because it's built modularly in Framer, Sabrina can now launch three more sites (The Counselling Room, The Mediation Room, and a hub site) by adapting the template — no developers required.

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR YOU

If you're building a Framer site for a service-based practice — therapy, coaching, consulting, mediation — this is what's possible. Complex information made clear. Emotional intelligence baked into design. Modular architecture that scales. A website that converts because it understands the visitor's journey, not just their demographic.
