Brief description: I turned SageLane's scattered business processes into a structured Monday.com operating system, building departmental workflows, an applicant tracking system, dependencies, and automations across management, sales, marketing, operations, and HR.

Sagelane Autospa - Monday.com Consultant Work

Role: Monday.com Consultant · Systems & Workflow Consultant Platform: Monday.com Industry: Automotive · Autospa, Carwash & Detailing
I was brought into SageLane Autospa & Carwash to help make sense of a growing business with a lot of moving pieces.
What started as a Monday.com workflow and systems project grew into a much broader role because I became deeply involved in understanding how the company operated, how its teams worked, and what the business needed to grow.
My approach was simple:
Understand the business first. Build the system second.

1. Built the Company's Organizational Structure in Monday.com

SageLane had multiple departments, responsibilities, and projects happening at once. I helped create a more organized structure in Monday.com so the business could manage work by department instead of having projects and responsibilities scattered across different places.
The structure covered:
Leadership / Management
Human Resources
Marketing
Sales
Operations
CRM
The goal was to create a centralized system where the team could clearly see:
What needed to be done
Who owned it
When it needed to happen
What depended on what
Where projects stood
How different departments connected
I wasn't simply setting up Monday.com boards.
I was designing the company's workflow structure.

2. Audited Existing Workflows

Before rebuilding anything, I took the time to understand how the business actually operated.
I reviewed the existing Monday.com workspace, boards, folders, tasks, workflows, and processes across departments.
I also met with team members and department leads to understand the human side of the system:
What was working?
What was frustrating?
Where were things getting stuck?
What information was missing?
What did each person actually need?
Where were responsibilities unclear?
What did leadership need visibility into?
This allowed me to build around the team's real working habits and business needs, rather than forcing everyone into a generic project management setup.

3. Created an Applicant Tracking System

I organized and created SageLane's Applicant Tracking System in Monday.com.
The goal was to give the company a structured way to manage applicants and hiring instead of relying on scattered information and manual follow-up.
The system gave the team a clearer way to track:
Applicants
Candidate stages
Ownership
Next steps
Hiring progress
This was one example of how the Monday.com system extended beyond marketing and into HR and business operations.

4. Built Departmental Boards & Workflows

I created and reorganized boards around the actual workflows of the business.
Rather than simply creating a task list for each department, I mapped out how the work moved through the organization.
I was constantly asking:
What happens? Who owns it? When does it happen? What needs to happen first? What happens next?
This created more actionable workflows across:
Management → Sales → Marketing → Operations → HR → CRM
The goal was to make work easier to track, easier to hand off, and easier for leadership to understand.

5. Created Task Dependencies

I used Monday.com's dependency functionality to connect tasks that relied on one another.
This helped turn individual tasks into actual workflows.
Instead of simply having:
Create campaign → Create landing page → Launch campaign
the system could reflect the relationship between those tasks and make it clearer what needed to happen before the next step could move forward.
This helped make projects more trackable, actionable, and less dependent on information living in someone's head.

6. Built Automations

I identified opportunities to reduce repetitive manual work and built Monday.com automations into the workflows where they made sense.
The goal wasn't to automate everything.
It was to remove unnecessary administrative steps and allow the system to handle repetitive parts of the workflow automatically.
My approach was:
Audit → Map → Structure → Automate → Improve

7. Created a Project Scope & Implementation Roadmap

I didn't want to hand leadership a giant audit document and leave them wondering what to do next.
I translated the findings into a Monday.com Project Scope Board that mapped out the work required to improve the company's systems.
The roadmap included:
Priorities
Projects
Tasks
Responsibilities
Timelines
Dependencies
Next steps
The work was organized into phases so leadership had a clear path for what needed to happen first and what could be tackled later.

8. Connected Departments Into One System

One of the biggest pieces of the project was helping the different parts of the company work as a connected organization.
HR, sales, marketing, operations, management, and CRM weren't treated as completely separate islands.
The workflows were designed to give the company a clearer picture of how work moved across departments.
This meant thinking beyond:
"Where should this task live?"
and instead asking:
"How does this task affect the rest of the business?"

9. Connected the System to the Bigger Business

My work with SageLane eventually expanded beyond Monday.com.
Because I had taken the time to understand the company's operations, teams, customers, marketing, and growth goals, I became involved in the broader business strategy and execution.
I transitioned from the initial systems consulting work into the company's Marketing Director role, where I helped lead and grow:
Marketing
Sales initiatives
The marketing team
Partnerships
Customer acquisition
Physical location marketing
Campaigns and promotions
Business growth initiatives
The systems work gave me a much deeper understanding of the business, which allowed me to help connect the operational side of the company with its marketing and growth efforts.

The Outcome

What started as a Monday.com systems project became a much deeper business partnership.
I helped SageLane move from scattered processes and disconnected workflows toward a more structured operating system that gave teams clearer ownership and leadership better visibility.
The company had:
A clearer organizational structure Departments and responsibilities had a defined place.
More structured workflows Teams had clearer processes for managing their work.
Better visibility Leadership could better understand what was happening across the business.
More actionable projects Dependencies, owners, timelines, and next steps were mapped out.
Less repetitive work Automations helped reduce unnecessary manual processes.
A foundation for growth The system created structure that could continue evolving as the company grew.
And perhaps the strongest proof of the work was what happened next:
I was trusted to move from building the system to helping run and grow the business.

My Approach to Monday.com Consulting

I don't believe a successful Monday.com setup starts with Monday.com.
It starts with the people and the business.
I want to understand:
How does your business actually work?
Where does work start? Who owns it? What happens next? Where are things getting stuck? What information is missing? What does leadership need to see? What does the team need to do their jobs better? And ultimately, what does success look like?
Then I build the system around those answers.
Because you don't need someone who simply knows how to create a board.
You need someone who can walk into complexity, make sense of it, build the structure behind it, and help your team move toward the same goal.
