Timeline: November - December 2025 My Role: Webflow Developer Company: Veksthuset Fun facts: 9 pages built, new CMS architecture, reusable components, advanced filtering Link: www.veksthuset.no

Challenge

Veksthuset was expanding its operations and opening new locations, which required adding multiple new pages to the website while keeping everything consistent and easy to maintain.
A key challenge was their existing CMS setup. One of the core pages included a large, complex directory of companies and employees, which needed to be scalable and editable by the client without technical assistance. On top of that, the client required advanced filtering functionality:
Filter employees by company
Filter by location, stored as a hidden CMS field
Webflow’s native CMS limitations (nested collection limits and filtering constraints) made this difficult to achieve in a clean, future-proof way.

Approach

To support long-term scalability and make the site easy for non-technical editors, I focused on modularity and CMS-driven structure.
For the static pages, I identified repeated design patterns and converted them into reusable components. This allowed the client to:
Build new pages by dragging and dropping pre-built sections
Update content safely without the risk of breaking layouts
Maintain consistent design across all pages
This component-based approach also significantly sped up development. By building each section once and reusing it across pages, we reduced duplication, minimized errors, and moved closer to the launch date faster.
For the complex Contact page, I designed a scalable CMS architecture that allowed the client to easily add or remove companies and employees, with changes instantly reflected on the site.
To overcome Webflow’s CMS nesting and filtering limitations, I implemented Finsweet’s CMS Attributes solution, which enabled:
More than the default limit of nested CMS items
Advanced multi-level filtering by company and location
A clean, performant frontend experience

Outcome

The final result was a flexible, scalable Webflow site built for growth.
A reusable component library that empowers the client to create and update pages independently
CMS-driven pages that are easy to maintain without developer involvement
Advanced filtering that works seamlessly despite Webflow’s native limitations
Faster development and a smoother path to launch
Veksthuset now has a future-proof website that supports ongoing expansion, while remaining simple and safe for their team to manage day-to-day.
