The project involved designing a custom One Piece-themed deck of playing cards with a unique and playful twist—iconic characters reimagined as cats. Each card featured hand-illustrated designs, with Devil Fruits replacing traditional suit symbols, adding an extra layer of creativity and connection to the series. Both character and fruit illustrations were carefully crafted in Figma, ensuring a polished and cohesive visual style. This commission brought the world of One Piece to life in a fresh, whimsical way, blending anime-inspired art with the charm of feline interpretations.

The deck was meticulously designed to balance detail, readability, and artistic charm. Characters were carefully reimagined as cats while retaining their iconic features, and Devil Fruits were thoughtfully illustrated to represent the suits. A cohesive color palette and consistent linework unified the deck, creating a polished and visually engaging final product. The result was a unique, high-quality set of playing cards that seamlessly blended One Piece lore with a playful, feline twist, making it both a collectible and a functional game piece.

The purple card group is themed after the Gum-Gum Fruit, chosen to match the King card, Luffy, who wields its powers. The Jack card features Zoro, instantly recognizable by his green hair and signature three swords, while the Queen card showcases Nami, depicted with her vibrant orange hair and signature staff. This trio reflects their strong connection in the series, with the Gum-Gum Fruit serving as a unifying symbol for the set.

The orange card group is themed after the Flame-Flame Fruit, representing its original user, Ace, as the King card. The Jack card features Sabo, easily recognizable by his hat, while Yamato takes the Queen card, showcasing her fierce presence and signature kanabo weapon. This trio is connected by their bonds and resilience, with the Flame-Flame Fruit serving as the unifying symbol of their strength.

The pink card group is themed after the Heart-Heart Fruit, symbolizing its connection to Law, who takes the King card with his signature coat and nods to his surgical precision. The Jack card features Brook, instantly recognizable by his skeletal frame and cane, while Robin appears as the Queen card, embodying her intelligence and grace. This trio is united by their mystery and depth, with the Heart-Heart Fruit serving as a fitting symbol of their enigmatic nature.

The gray card group is themed after the String-String Fruit, with Doflamingo as the King card, embodying his mastery of manipulation and control. The Jack card features Shanks, known for his commanding presence and legendary status, while Sanji appears as the Queen card, representing finesse and strength with his signature kicks. This trio exudes power and authority, with the String-String Fruit serving as a symbol of dominance and precision.

It allowed me to craft a unique visual experience while staying true to the iconic characters and their personalities. Focusing on attention to detail, I was able to create a deck that not only celebrated the essence of the series but also offered a fresh, artistic interpretation. This project reinforced the importance of combining creativity with functionality to produce something that both engages and resonates with fans.
