Visual Identity Refresh for Final New

Final New is a film production company with a strong, functional identity already in place. They approached us with the need to refresh their visual language — not to reinvent it entirely, but to bring a sense of energy, clarity, and personality to the way they present themselves, especially in pitch decks and client-facing materials.

The main goal was to evolve their identity so that it felt more recognisable and alive in presentation formats, while keeping things simple, adaptable, and grounded in the everyday reality of production work.

We reimagined the logo by placing it on colored gaffer tape — a playful nod to one of the most iconic, and often missing, items on any set. The tape became both a branding device and a metaphor: essential, flexible, and quietly holding everything together behind the scenes.

To visually communicate the range of Final New’s expertise — from location scouting and casting to directing, set design, wardrobe, and scenography — we developed a series of bold, modular illustrations.

These illustrations worked on multiple levels:

In their simplest form, they acted as graphic icons or masks for live photography.

In more detailed compositions, they brought storytelling and motion into layouts without relying on actual footage.

The identity was designed to be low-maintenance yet expressive — easy to apply across slides, treatments, and other internal documents, without needing heavy design resources.

Although this concept was ultimately unpublished, it remains one of those rare projects where collaboration with a like-minded creative turns into a joyful and inspiring process. Designing for peers — and helping their work shine — is a kind of brief you don’t take for granted.
