Smashitol — Pharmaceutical Ad Parody

A comedy pharmaceutical ad parody created for the reunion show of Los Angeles dance music band The Mutaytor. Scientifically engineered to make their audience feel the joy they once did when they raved until dawn.

This short was shown before the live reunion show to considerable applause. The concept: a fake drug ad, complete with the tone, pacing, and visual language of a real pharmaceutical commercial, but selling the feeling of being young and dancing all night again.

I handled the project end-to-end: writing, directing, editing, graphic design, and voice over. The goal was to nail the format so precisely that the comedy lands through recognition, not just jokes.
