Project Pivot During Beta Customer Delivery
About this Project
The project initially involved building a user interface prototype for proprietary AI technology but pivoted to commercializing the underlying API based on customer feedback. The goal was to enable paying customers to integrate the AI into their engineering and education workflows.
What I did:
Launched early UI prototypes and collected user feedback
Pivoted to API commercialization to better serve customer needs and scalability
Scoped, developed, and delivered two distinct API integrations:
Customer A: A parametric pricing tool embedded in their website
Customer B: An interactive education module for students
Provided ongoing support and iteration to maintain long-term customer relationships
Deliverables:
UI prototype with early feedback
Functional API and integration documentation
Two customized client API implementations
Customer support and iterative improvements post-launch
Results:
Successfully transitioned from UI prototype to scalable API service
Retained paying customers with long-term engagement
Enabled customers to enhance their offerings with AI capabilities
Became a subcontractor on one of our customer’s projects
