BRUN — Brand & Strategy Audit

The Brief

BRUN is a contemporary fashion label built around deep earth tones, oversized editorial typography, and a Spring/Summer 2025 campaign anchored by the tagline "Wear Your Story." It positions itself as design-forward casualwear for a bold audience.
I broke down what's working, what's contradicting itself, and where the brand has room to grow.

What Works

The visual identity earns its confidence. A color system of dark brown, burnt orange, and magenta accents is cohesive and distinctive. The art direction is editorial without being inaccessible. BRUN clearly invested in how it looks, and it shows.

Where It Breaks Down

Language without weight. The core promise ("casual clothes crafted for the bold") leans on adjectives that have gone generic across indie fashion. "Bold," "unfiltered," "crafted" — borrowed freely by dozens of labels. Without a concrete origin story, material callout, or maker narrative, the words float.
Conflicting signals. Weekly drops and a standing discount code are visible right on the homepage. That's a fast fashion cadence dressed in slow fashion aesthetics. For an increasingly informed consumer, the gap is noticeable and erodes trust.

The Takeaway

BRUN has the visual foundation to become genuinely memorable. What it lacks is the substance to match its style: a real story, a defensible point of view on production, and messaging that doesn't borrow from the same shelf as everyone else.
