Paws-ibilities Rescue Web Application

Overview: Paws-ibilities Rescue is a full-stack web application built for a fictitious animal rescue society. The goal was to highlight adoptable pets to increase fosters and adoptions, while streamlining volunteer coordination for events. Visitors could browse pets and events, but needed to sign up to apply as fosters or register as volunteers.

My Role: I developed the entire application from frontend to backend. On the backend, I used Python-Flask with Marshmallow for data validation and serialization, RESTful APIs, and FlaskMail for automated emails (including sign-up verification and event reminders). On the frontend, I built with React and JavaScript, styled with custom CSS and Material UI components for a polished, consistent look. Admins had the ability to manage pet profiles and events directly through the site.

Result: A responsive, fully functional platform that demonstrates my ability to integrate authentication, automated communication, and CRUD functionality into a cohesive user experience. This project not only showcased my full-stack skills but also my ability to design software with real-world impact in mind.
