Hel.io is a Web3 payments platform that enables merchants, dApps, and creators to accept decentralized crypto payments across multiple blockchains.

I want to take you through my process of re-designing this website.

The key thing to note when designing a landing page is to know the who, the what, the why, because when you know the who (target audience), the what (solution the product provides), and why (the problem the target audience have), the how (direction) becomes clear.

The previous website had a few problems, which prompted me to redesign it.

The primary color (orange) clashes harshly with the background. This creates an "off-putting vibe" because it strains the user’s eyes or feels visually jarring. For example, a bright orange text on a black background can be hard to look at and feels aggressive rather than inviting.

The website’s design elements (like fonts, images, or layout) feel cheap, outdated, and overly flashy. This is usually by caused inconsistent fonts, low-quality graphics, cluttered layouts etc.

The website lack emotional connection.

The combination of sharp contrast, tackiness, and lack of excitement creates a poor user experience. Users feel overwhelmed, distrustful, or bored, leading to high bounce rates and low engagement.

So I had my work cutout for me, which was to transform the dull, unexciting vibe into an engaging experience that motivates users to take action, which I was able to do and as a result, I created a better version which was

Visually Appealing: The harmonious color scheme and clean design replace the off-putting contrast and tacky elements, creating a professional, modern look.

User-Friendly: A clear layout, intuitive navigation, and strategic CTAs make it easy for users to explore and act.

Exciting and Engaging: High-quality visuals, benefit-driven content, and trust signals spark interest and motivate users to take action.

Trustworthy: The polished aesthetic and user-centered design build confidence, reducing bounce rates and increasing conversions.
