The scientific-educational non-governmental organization, "Armenian Project," was established in 2020 by a group of scientists and specialists. The organization's mission is to enhance the human capital of Armenia, thereby contributing to the development of a national civil society and strengthening Armenian statehood.
The logo and visual identity of the organization are centered around the legend of Armenian Patriarch Hayk, the founder of the Armenian nation. The concept behind the logo is that Armenia, or Armenian statehood, is viewed as the primary Armenian project, which is reflected in the organization's name. Patriarch Hayk was renowned as an archer, and this is depicted in the logo through the representation of a bow and arrow. The logo consists of an arc shape and the Armenian letters Հ (H) and Ն (N), which are the initial letters of the Armenian variant of the organization's name. Additionally, these letters also represent the initials of Hayk Nahapet (Patriarch Hayk).
The letters used in the logo are inspired by the traditional Armenian script style called erkatagir, which was primarily used between the 5th and 9th centuries. This choice reflects the historical and cultural heritage of Armenia.
The colors employed in the logo subtly reference the colors of the Armenian flag, namely red, blue, and orange. However, a more turquoise variant of blue is used to create a unique brand color rather than directly replicating the flag colors. In addition to these three colors, the main brand colors of the organization are black and white. This combination of vibrant colors and minimalist black and white is characteristic of Armenian culture, where vibrant colors are often found in manuscript art, while architecture tends to be restrained in its color palette.
Several graphic elements are created using the shape of a bow's arc, further reinforcing the thematic connection to the organization's logo. The star-shaped symbol incorporated in the logotype is a reference to the dynastic star associated with the early Armenian royal houses.
Overall, the logo and visual identity of the "Armenian Project" organization aim to embody loyalty to the basics of Armenian culture and identity, while representing the organization's mission of fostering a strong Armenian society.
