AI-Powered Reddit Lead Gen: Zero-Monitoring Buyer Detection
Reddit is a real-time stream of people describing problems they're ready to pay someone to solve. The phrase "is there a way to automate this" means someone is mid-decision. The problem is volume and timing. Manually scanning subreddits is impossible at scale, and by the time you find a genuine buyer, someone else already replied.
I built a system that finds the signal automatically. Every hour. Every day. Without me.
Results
Zero daily monitoring time, system runs 24/7
Alerts in under 15 minutes with pre-drafted replies
60+ exclusion patterns eliminate false positives
Up to $18,000-$26,000/year in recovered hours at $100/hr
Before vs After
Before: 30-40 minutes per day scanning Reddit across multiple subreddits. Inconsistent coverage, no tracking, missed opportunities.
After: Alerts arrive only when a real match fires. Engagement drops to under 10 minutes per lead because the reply is already drafted. Full feedback loop tracks subreddit performance and conversion patterns automatically.
How It Works
A custom SOLR-powered scraper monitors Reddit's post feed 24/7 with a three-layer boolean filter. Layer one checks buying intent (25+ signal phrases). Layer two checks manual process pain. Layer three verifies AI and automation relevance. All three must match. A NOT layer excludes 60+ false positive patterns: job postings, self-promotion, budget flags, dev forums, unrelated automation topics.
Reddit Monitor Workflow
When a post clears the filter, n8n takes over. An AI qualification layer (powered by OpenAI) confirms genuine buyer intent. The workflow pulls the full Reddit thread for context, then an AI Agent drafts targeted outreach that adds unique value the existing replies haven't covered.
The notification lands in Telegram with the drafted reply and two action buttons: "Sent" and "Log to CRM."
The engagement tracker closes the loop. Make.com detects new comments, fires back to n8n, and logs time-to-engage in Google Sheets. One tap on "Log to CRM" creates a Notion entry with all lead details.
The Math
Manual Reddit monitoring: 3.5-5 hours per week. At $100/hr, that's $18,000-$26,000/year in recovered hours, before a single deal closes from Reddit leads.
