I’ve recently been scaling a client of mine in the skin care niche to multiple 7-figures.

If you know anything about Facebook Ads… of course you know that your audience is very important. Everyone and anyone will tell you to test different ads to your audiences, and they’d be right, however that’s not the full picture. What you need to do in order to optimize your testing phase, is to first create an understanding of your target audience. The very first thing you should do before running an ad is to understand their motivations and desires. Everyone is motivated in the following two ways: They want to move TOWARDS a desire, and they want to move AWAY from a negative outcome.
In this case, I was running ads for a skin care brand, so what is the desire, and what is the negative outcome?
In this case, clear skin is the burning desire, and acne/blemishes/unclear skin is the outcome to avoid .So, in my ads, I had an Ad Copy promoting the benefits of what the product can get you towards (clear skin), but I also had copy focusing on what the product can get them away from (unclear skin).These two copies BOTH performed well in my winning audiences, helping create the 13 ROAS that you see below! So, making sure that you understand your audience is a crucial step to take before you run any ads… this understanding will help guide you as you navigate your ad account.
